Surprise Del Webb Communities
Come see the way retirement living is supposed to be. The Del webb communities of Surprise include everything an active senior could want. Created for adults ages 55 and older, Sun City Grand, and coming soon Sun City Festival, are located in one of the fastest growing areas of central Arizona. Sun City Grand offers its residents on-site and off-site recreation in addition to beautiful housing.
Sun City Grand was constructed in October of 1996 and is the major reason why the city has won the title of the fastest growing city in the state four of the past five years. While some Del webb communities allow residents of all ages, Sun City Grand’s 7,723 homes are for seniors only. The village is projected to grow to approximately 9,800 homes upon completion. The houses in Sun City Grand range from $1 million to $1.1 million in this high-end community with so much to offer. Signs on the outskirts of Surprise read “Population Increasing Daily,” and it is said a new home is completed every three hours. The statistics don’t lie — Surprise is a place people want to live.
Del webb communities advertise for active adults, and that’s exactly who lives here. The residents of Sun City Grand have the opportunity to have active minds, bodies and social lives. The landscape is dotted with four challenging 18-hole golf courses, fitness centers, walking and jogging trails, a tennis pavilion, a softball stadium and swimming pools. There are aerobics classes, golfing clubs and softball teams to get you involved with other members of the community. The village boasts over 80 clubs with themes in the arts, education, community improvement, popular hobbies and outdoor activities.
Sun City Grand offers other weekly events to get community members involved. Dances and socials are held in the ballroom, as well as educational seminars. Guest speakers visit to talk about issues relevant to seniors including finances, health and safety. Outing to area attractions are scheduled regularly. Groups visit local museums, fine restaurants and musical concerts just to name a few.
Since Sun City Grand has been such a success over the past decade, Surprise Delwebb communities are expanding by adding a new community early in 2006 called Sun City Festival. Presales will begin soon. This community has a projected home capacity of 7,000 homes on its 3,100 acres of land. The focus of Sun City Festival will be health, wellness and personal enrichment in addition to the amenities typical to Delwebb communities.
